[Originality a Rhapsody.To Face the Future] Competition Guidelines
☆QUALIFICATION
*No restrictions on Participants, both individual and group applications are accepted.
*All work must be original. No counterfeiting or plagiarism will be accepted; any participants’ work that violates this rule will be disqualified, prize revoked and circumstances announced publicly. In the event of plagiarism, participants will be held responsible for any loss of rights and/or interests by third parties and must accept all legal liability.
☆ENTRY GUIDELINES
*First Stage Preliminary Round: Designs are received in the form of a Poster, other stipulations and documents to be handed in are as follows;
I .Competition rules and Regulations Agreement form(See Appendix C,Signed copy is Required)
II . Poster:To include (300 words abstract) on A1 portrait size poster material (approximately 84 cm*59 cm). Please paste the competition label on the back of the poster in the lower right hand corner (approx 5cm*5cm See Appendix B). Note if the participants name is visible on the poster proper (Front side) the entry will be disqualified.
III . Design Concept (under 1,000 words):To include name and design concept, explaining the construction process, the innovative features of the design and how the system, products and equipment satisfies demands for the following modern concerns; safety, quality, health, conservation, sustainable living and comfort.
IV . CD copy of design,Including
(1)Design Concept,WORD document
(2)Poster/Pictorial:『.jpg document』resolution of 300dpi『.ai original file』。
*Second Stage Finals:Designs are only accepted in short film or scale mock-up form (depending designs’ individual characteristics) stipulations are as follows;
I . Short film- Video and animation are accepted (5 minute limit), Please hand in『.avi』file format with a CD.
II . Mock-up- to accommodate spatial restriction, mock up should be no larger than 30 cm ×30 cm×30 cm.
III. Presentation film-For foreign participants, which is unable to attend the final stage, please transcribe the presentation film.(15 minute limit)

☆JUDGING PROCESS
I. Procedure: There are two stages in the evaluation process:
*First Stage Preliminary Round:Committee members evaluate participants on the basis of their Poster (and design concept) and choose a final 15 to move on to the second stage finals.
*Second Stage Finals:Participants will present their short film or scale mockup (15 minutes). There are no restrictions regarding the method of presentation (PowerPoint/Performance etc.) Committee members will evaluates the participant’s presentation and design content and finally select one recipient for first, second, third place and two winners of the outstanding design award.
PS.For foreign participants, which is unable to attend the final stage, please transcribe the presentation film.(15 minute limit)
II. Appraisal criterion: Appraisal criterion: The appraisal criterion is divided into three main categories; Creativity, level of humanist concern and feasibility. Each category occupies 1/3 of the total score.

I. The first stage selection quota is 15 places; however the committee reserves the right to adjust this number depending on quality of work received.
II. According tax law stipulations (line 88) prizes and awards attract a 10% income tax. |
☆PROMOTION
I. The 2nd「Originality a Rhapsody.To Face the Future」competition Intelligent living Spaces-Ambiance Creation & Simulation awards ceremony; presentation of prize money, certificate and trophy to participants.
II. Exhibition of works and chance to interact with industry and relevant bodies.
III. Manufacturing of winners design as well as promotion within the Media and wider community.
IV. Selected designs can also enjoy further collaboration with competition organizers.
☆ATTENTION
I. After registration, please hand in designs as specified and within the agreed timeframe.
II. In the event of misappropriation during delivery or damage to goods, the competition will not be responsible and will not take these circumstances into account while judging. The design is judged as seen and as received.
III. The participants and winners much personally attend the ceremony and complete the design presentation.
IV. Competition organizers have the right to modify the rules and regulations of the competition. Please check http://www.ils.org.tw for any updates or changes.
